Hello sunshine!

Taking care of our health unfortunately does not mean that we become immune to everything. That is what happened with me when I discovered that I had a toenail fungus for the first time in my life! Of course I got upset thinking that I might need to take medication, but also because I was writing my book Back to NaturalI just thought: how can I give advice if now I have a health problem? Well, I guess it was my perfectionism showing up again…Thinking a bit better I came to realize that I am not made of steel, but of flesh and blood with all the vulnerabilities associated with that.

The good thing is that now I can share what worked with me to eliminate the toenail fungus. In my last post I told you how I overcame two toenail fungus with kefir. Now I am going to tell you what I did to get rid of the third and most difficult one.

First time I heard about Epsom salts, or magnesium sulfate, was in an article written by Dr. Christiane Northrup. I learned that Epsom salts are a great help to increase the absorption of magnesium. Time passed by and it was only when I was trying to find a solution to my toenail fungus that I decided to give them a try, However, you can´t imagine how hard it was to find them here in Portugal!

Finally I bought my first package. Each day, after my shower, I placed my feet inside a basin filled with hot water and a handful of Epsom salts. I left them there for twenty minutes. After around three months the fungus was gone! Ok, it took some time to disappear, but that is what normally happens with a fungus. And I didn´t have to take any medication!

Besides this I have noticed the following benefits:

  • More relaxed after taking my foot bath
  • Better night´s sleep
  • Stronger nails (which were always very soft, by the way)

And these are just the apparent benefits!

One more thing: magnesium deficiency seems to be more common than we think. Actually we are more used to hearing about calcium deficiency, but we should not undervalue magnesium´s role. Did you know that magnesium is as important as calcium and vitamin D for building healthy bones?
