Hello sunshine!

Summer holidays are getting closer. Do you already know where to go? Actually it doesn´t matter that much as long as you have fun and relax! But as it can take a few hours until you arrive to your destiny, the question then is: what to eat while traveling? In other words, something easy, simple and…healthy!

1. Fruit: bananas are my favorite option because they are easy to eat, hands don´t get messy, they are tasty and satiating! But if you are not a big fan of bananas there are other alternatives such as apples or even strawberries which are in season now!

2. Nuts and seeds*: almonds, cashews, walnuts, pumpkin seeds are just a few examples of nuts and seeds that you can take with you while traveling. They satiate hunger, but they are also high in fat (especially nuts) and, as such, they should be eaten in moderation. In other words, don´t eat the whole pack! 😉

3. Vegetable sticks with tahini/hummus: you can find my tahini recipe here or if you prefer you can find my hummus recipe here. After that cut vegetables such as zucchini, carrots and celery into sticks. Pack everything in different containers and that´s it!

3. Energy balls: they are really easy to make. Oatmeal is the main ingredient and then you add others you like the most. What´s the best part? There´s no need for cooking because these energy balls are eaten raw! Check out my recipe Oatmeal, Banana and Honey Energy Balls.

Besides food it´s also key to bring water with you, so you stay hydrated. By the way, did you know that it´s common to confuse hunger with thirst?

 

With one worry less, now you just need to think about what to pack! 😉

*Pay attention to the label before buying any nuts and seeds: make sure they are raw and with no added ingredients. At home you can then add the flavor you want.
