Hello sunshine!

Have you heard about tahini? It is a sesame seed paste, very popular in the Middle East, and it has been part of my life since early age, all because of my father. He really likes the combination of tahini and miso in bread. Truth be told, I didn´t like it in the beginning, but after so much effort from my father I surrender. The funniest thing is that it didn´t take long for my father to regret what he had done because I would eat everything I could!

Many years have passed since then. As here I can´t find tahini for sale, I decided to learn how to make this paste. And do you know the best part? I found out that it is super easy to make and even more delicious than the ones you buy in stores. I normally use it to spread on my rice bread bites or on rice cakes.

Tahini Recipe

  • 1 pack of sesame seeds (200 gr.)
  • 5 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt to taste

  1. Open a package of sesame seeds
  2. Place the seeds directly on the pan to toast
  3. When the seeds start popping, turn off the heat and wait until they cool
  4. Place the sesame seeds in a food processor and grind them
  5. Add the olive oil and the salt
  6. Grind again and that´s it!

Now you just need to save the paste in a glass jar and put it in the fridge and you have around one month to consume it.

Bon appétit!

Nurture yourself,
